So you have paid us a visit and found the animal of your dreams and would love to offer them a forever home. What happens next we hear you ask.  Our home check co-ordinator will give you a call to arrange for two members of the committee to come and visit.

There are no trick questions during our visit, we are looking to ensure that you have the right environment for one of our animals, for example, do you have a secure garden if you are wanting to rehome one of our dogs.   We will also talk to you about the financial implications of taking on a pet; have you considered vets bills, food costs, kennels costs etc.

We will also discuss with you how to welcome your new pet into your home - for cats this will be a guide on how long to keep them housebound before letting them out for the first time.  If you pass your home check, you will be asked to sign our consent form to confirm that you wish to proceed with the adoption of your new furbie.

You will be given the contact details of the location where your new friend is being cared for - this will either be Copperhill Kennels, or one of our foster carers. When you are ready, you give them a call and arrange a suitable date to collect your new forever friend.

On collection we will ask you to sign our adoption paperwork and pay the rehoming fee. We will also handover details of any treatment they have had whilst in our care; confirm when they were last treated for worms/flee and then you are ready to take your new buddy home.  You will receive a follow up phone call from us about two weeks after your adoption and four weeks later we will complete the microchip transfer.

As with all H.A.R.T animals we remain a phone call away if you should experience any issues. Click below to find the animals in our care.
